The Children’s Heart Institute at Memorial Care Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach invites applications for a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join our rapidly growing, high-performing CTICU team.
Since establishing our CTICU in 2019, Memorial Care Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach has built one of the most disciplined, outcomes-focused pediatric cardiac programs in the region. Our complication and infection metrics place us among the top-performing centers nationally.

About Our Program
Our CTICU is part of a comprehensive Children’s Heart Institute offering:
- Dedicated 8 Bed CTICU with flexibility to expand to 15 Beds
- Admission to Discharge concept, caring for complex cardiothoracic surgical and medical cardiac patients
- Advanced congenital surgical program
- Active ECMO and mechanical circulatory support
- Adult Congenital Heart Program
- True multidisciplinary integration (surgery, cardiology, anesthesia, perfusion)
- Data-driven QI and outcomes benchmarking infrastructure

About the Hospital
Miller Children’s Hospital is one of only eight private, regional, not-for-profit children’s hospitals in California. Since opening in 1970, it has grown into a 324-bed facility treating over 8,000 children annually and serving as a referral center for more than 2 million people in the surrounding region. The hospital features a robust perinatal program with over 6,000 annual deliveries and a 90-Bed Neonatal ICU and is affiliated with the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine.
The Position
Qualifications:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and/ or Pediatric Cardiology Physician with advanced Cardiac Critical Care training or several years of dedicated Cardiac Critical Care experience
- Must be eligible for a medical license in the state of California.
- A minimum of 5 post-fellowship years of extensive experience in the care of neonates and children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease, including postoperative care.
- Pediatric ECMO experience
- Clinical expertise and experience in cardiac critical care
